Welcome To Sugarloaf Mountain Polocrosse Club
Would you enjoy a fast paced team sport played on a horse? Polocrosse is just that. It's exciting to watch and lots of fun to play. Think of polo played with lacrosse rackets and a soft ball.
Sugarloaf Mountain Polocrosse Club is a polocrosse club based in Western Maryland, close to Sugarloaf Mountain, although our members come from all across the state!
Practices are normally held at the Potomac Pony Club Field, 19301 Bucklodge Road, Boyds, MD, at 10am on Sundays and have started for 2013. Please contact us if you would like to join in on the fun. To stay updated on practice times, tournaments, playdays and clinics, contact us to join our mailing list. To join SMPC, all you have to do is fill out our membership form and release and bring it to a practice with your membership fee.
If you don't think your horse will like the game, then try coming on foot. It's a lot of fun, and you'll learn a lot when you're not worrying about teaching the horse at the same time. We're very open to new members and we usually have some equipment you can borrow for your first practice or two.
If you do plan on riding, please bring safe riding attire, including a helmet, shoes with a heel and safe tack. We do not bring spare horses to practice, so please contact us if you need help finding a mount.
