SMPC Results 2012
We had 24 SMPC players play at our home tournament on 18th and 19th August. It was unfortunately cut short by rain but the weekend was still very successfully for Sugarloaf players!
A/B Grade -
The team of Peter Balogh, Jake Shriner and Michael Strider Jr. placed 1st! Peter Balogh got Best Player in A/B grade! And Jake's horse Lexus got the Bacardi Best Horse Award!
Nick Balogh and Karl Balogh played as a two man team all weekend and placed 2nd!
C Grade -
Alex Harvey, Sara Greenbaum and Audra Campbell played a very tough game and placed 2nd!
Audra Campbell's horse Tye got the Bacardi Best Horse Award!
D Grade -
Savannah Cox was on the winning team with John Digney (Heartland) and Kevin McPeek (Bucks) and did an excellent job playing number 1 for them! Savannah also got Best Player in D grade!
Emma Strider, Zoe Hatgi and Ella Groner played a very skilled game and placed 2nd!
Hunter Fabry, Jackson Groner and David Hruda played a great game and placed 3rd!
E Grade -
Ben Grissom and Aidan Doud played with Linda Harris (Bay Area) and placed 2nd.
Sarah Horton, Kevin Horton and Annie Groner played very well and place 3rd. Sarah Horton got Best Player in E grade.
Erin Strider, Shyannah Cox and Piper Fabry also showed off their skills in E grade and improved tremendously over the course of the weekend!
Sugarloaf Mountain also was awarded some of the 'fun awards', Shyannah Cox got an award for the cutest fall off, Alex Harvey got an award for the best involuntary dismount off of his subsitute pony Splash, Kevin Horton got an award for cutest kid and pony!

Bucks County Results 2012
A Grade -
Peter Balogh played with the Zambia Open Team's men's section (Andrew Diemer and Evan Vallee). Andrew and Peter played part of the weekend as a two man team and placed 1st! Peter got Best Player in A grade!
Nick Balogh, Catherine Hanagan and John Cook played on a full Sugarloaf section in a tough A grade. Nick and John also played as a two man team on Sunday (due to an unfortunate injury to Catherine's horse, Willow, we hope she recovers quickly!) and placed 3rd!
Liz Cook played with the Bucks County team and dominated the field as a number 2, always seen with the ball in her racket!
B Grade -
We had 2 Sugarloaf teams in B grade, both of which played extremely well! There was a 4 way tie for first between the 2 Sugarloaf teams, Bucks County and Carolina, which had to be broken by goals scored (which resulted in a tie) and then by goals scored against!
Karl Balogh, Michael Strider and Audra Campbell played a very tough game and placed 2nd!
Brian Karn, Sara Cook and Katie Mintz played a very exciting game, only loosing to the 1st place Bucks County team!
C Grade -
Emma Strider, Zoe Hatgi and David Hruda played a very quick game in C grade and won 2 sudden death games!
Savannah Cox played on a team with Warwick players (NY) and did an excellent job playing number 1 for them!
D Grade -
Sarah Horton, Kevin Horton and Erin Strider played some great games and showed off their awesome ball skills!
Sugarloaf Mountain also was awarded some of the 'fun awards', Kevin Horton got an award for 'best effort at trying to dunk people in the dunk tank' and Audra Campbell and John Cook both received awards for the 'best fall off'.
APA Outbound Tours
We would like to wish the best of luck to Karl Balogh, traveling to Australia with the U-16 Team, and Peter Balogh and Liz Cook, traveling to Zambia with the Open Team. Good luck and safe travels! Can't wait to hear all the details!

An Upper Level Clinic with Paul Johnson

Paul Johnson will be coming to Maryland on May 5th and 6th for an upper level (C grade and above) clinic focusing on strategies and tactics on the field. The total cost of the clinic will be $110; this includes two full days of instruction (plus meeting on Friday). Auditing will be allowed for lower level players for $25 for both days. Please bring cash (approx. $7 per day) if you would like to be included in the lunch order (to be taken in the morning). The clinic will be limited to no more than 15 players.
